Shop for real gaps
Most last-minute purchases are small: sunscreen, travel-size containers, a spare charging cable, snacks, or a reusable water bottle. Check closets and drawers first. Make a specific note of size or compatibility—USB-C cable, child-sized sunscreen, or an appropriate adapter—so you do not make a second trip.
Give yourself a departure cut-off
Set a time to stop adding optional things. Pack documents, essentials, and medications first; treats and nice-to-haves last. If you are traveling with other people, let each person own their personal packing while keeping shared purchases on one household list. A good system makes departure calmer, not more elaborate.
